BioRey is not a listed company. No external investor at the helm. Just a family that has believed in organic for fifty years and proves it every day.
BioRey’s office is at Marnixstraat 234 in Amsterdam – on the exact site where the famous Amsterdam vegetable and fruit market was held from 1895 to 1934. The Appeltjesmarkt, as it was known.
Growers brought their produce by boat through the inlet harbours along the Singelgracht. Shopkeepers and vendors from across the city came here every early morning to buy their vegetables and fruit. Marnixstraat 234-238 stood literally in the middle of it.
In 1934 the market moved to the Jan van Galenstraat. Ninety years later, we bring the organic vegetable and fruit trade back to where it all began.
